Long Weekend

The past few days have been alittle bit frustrating. I've come to the conclusion that Townes is a fussy baby. The past few days he has become more difficult. I believe that the walks we take interfere with his regular schedule, he's also wanted to suck on a pacifier (something he hasn't shown much interest in until the past couple of days). Townes is to the point where he's either asleep, awake and eating, or awake and crying; he only has about an hour and a half total of quiet alert time. I don't know if it's better to console him when he starts to cry in this crib during sleep time, or just let him "cry it out"; if anyone out there has any suggestions I'm all ears.

On a positive note I believe that Townes is attempting to talk back to us. During his few alert times he smiles a little and says "Ah-ah" as if he's trying to speak to us. The doctor also thinks he's going to have blue eyes. I know I don't have blue eyes, nor does Emily. I might need to interrogate Emily further on this issue.

As for us not much is going on. We try to watch parts of movies while we can, last night we watched "About A Boy" on TV. As for me I've learned "Take It On The Run" on guitar, have put off reading "All The Kings Men" indefinitely, and have been listening to My Morning Jacket a lot lately (I believe they are one of the better bands out at the moment).

*I'm going to try to update the blog every Sunday, once a week. I'm not sure if I'll have the time or the content to post much aside from once a week.

Have you tried Milocon drops or talked to your Dr. about him having "colic"? Hastings fussed/crid for 4 1/2 months. Once we put rice cereal in his bottles (soy milk) he changed in 24 hours. It was our life saver!! I will give ya'll a call - I promise it gets easier, but is beyond overwhelming at first. Missed y'all at Mags' shower!! xoxo, Anne

We do use Milocon drops, they help some; and we don’t think he has colic. He doesn’t cry non-stop for hours, it just seems like he’s never content except for in the mornings. It’s almost to the point where we can’t put him down with out him losing it. We are now just letting him cry it out and he usually falls asleep after 15 min. of crying. We are also trying not to use the pacifier too much, but I don’t know how long that will last Sorry we didn’t make it to Margaret’s party, we where going to go then Townes started to act terrible that night and we just couldn’t leave him with my parents in the state he was in.

I love getting the parenting info. from your perspective, Harvey. Please post more pictures. As for helpful hints about raising baby...well, we just put Teddy outside when he gets fussy. I guess it's different with a dog. :) ska

It was a shirt that said "Chicks Dig Me" that Emily bought at Old Navy. Hopefully he won't go down the Peeps road.
